SyAAF Su-22M in Action

New collection of Syrian Fitters photographed while performing air raids during the current unrest.

A photo for a SyAAF Su-22M taken while flying over the county of Idleb governorate sometime in 2013 carrying fuel tank under wings pylons and what look like a pair of RBK-250 Cluster Bombs under belly.

Syrian Fitter been spotted the day the Syrian Army could retake Al-Hosn Citadel "Crac De Chevaliers" in March 2014.

Recent photo for a SyAAF Su-22M spotted while dropping three dumb bombs over FSyA units in Wadi El-Deif in Idleb's county on 15th Dec. 2014 just a day after the fall of this area into the hands of FSyA.

Photos of SyAAF Su-22s

After the MiGs, we are moving to the Sukhoi family airframes those served and still serving with the SyAAF. Although the SyAAF acquired the Su-7 and Su-20, but due to the lack of photos of these aircraft I would start posting some photos for the Su-22's.
Above is a very rare shot of pair of Su-22M-3 been taken by Syrian military media while taking off.

Another rare still but this time for a pair of the mighty Su-22M-4. This shot has appeared after the Syrian uprising. These M-4's look to wear the Dark Olive Green camo.

Another SyAAF Su-22M-3 it carries the chaff/flares dispenser mounted on the top of the rear fuselage those are locally fitted to this aircraft (same as what we saw on the Syrian MiG-21bis and MiG-23ML's). I wouldn't say this is an M-4 variant since it lacks the rails for R-60 air-to-air missiles.

SyAAF Su-22M-4 fitted with two FAB's under belly seen in action during the uprising.

This Su-22M was seen maneuvering somewhere over Idleb, fitted with two fuel tanks under wings and two bombs under belly.

Similarly, a Su-22-M was spotted over Saraqeb (Idleb province) on 6th June 2013. The SyAAF Su-22 fleet is distributed over T-4, Sh'eirat and Dhmeyr AFB's.

Over Damascus, a Su-22M-3, particularly over Yalda, and for the first time seen fitted with B-8 unguided rockets pods.

More stills for SyAAF units of different types could be taken while in action.
Let's start with the L-39's which conduct air raids over Aleppo and recently over Raqqa (providing that some units are based in Kshesh airbase which is very close to Raqqa).
Above a unit carries serial 2112 spotted somewhere over Aleppo province.

This could be the last photo for this L-39 with serial 2119 downed on 19 November 2012 near Ain Jara town in Aleppo province (Source: CNN).

A still I extracted from an HD video shows an L-39 with serial 2125 spotted over Raqqa.

Su-22M-3 releasing FAB-500.

SyAAF Various II

While the Syrian uprising continues, more and more videos come through the media, either the official Syrian TVs or by holders of simple mobile phones doing their best to record any single military stuff their eyes may catch.

Above is a Mig-23ML with over-painted serial, the fuselage of this aircraft looks new and clearly is one of those units overhauled in Krasnodar facility two or three years ago.

Another Mig-23ML (or even the same, but they forgot to hide the serial which is clearly 2799) taxiing, note the camo is exactly like the Mig-23ML spotted in Krasnodar in 2010 HERE

A pilot just got into the cockpit of a Su-22 reg. 25X7, might be an M4 variant (Fitter-K).

What made me assume it's an M4 variant is the display TV on the upper right corner.

This is apparently an old recording of green-tinted radar dome Mig-23MF trio was embedded in one of the recently emerged videos.

The same old recording shows a full Mig family formation served in the SyAAF (sadly without the legendary Mig-17), with Mig-29 in the front, Mig-23MS or MF, Mig-21 (could be a trainer U variant), and the biggest member of Mig family the Mig-25PD.

Here is a video recorded by some civilian in Tadmor, should be standing somewhere near 34°33'44.97"N 38°17'16.89"E, looking between 34°33'30.88"N 38°18'17.86"E and 34°33'31.00"N 38°18'2.58"E.

I just included here the GE coordinates above to prove that it is realy Tadmor airport, not the T4 AFB which is the home base of the Mig-25 (at least PD & PU variants).

In this video we can see a Mig-25PD.

This video confirms that the fleet of Mig-25 is not withdrawn from service as few sources claimed.
