Photos from SyAAF TABQA AFB (Part II)

Finally the Tabqa AFB is overrun. On 25th Aug. 2014, the regime announced a tactical evacuation to this airbase which resulted eventually to be seized by ISIS.
Good amount of photos came out from this air field considering that I did not expect more than few stills to be published by ISIS...Anyway, who among them does care for some scrapped MiGs!?!?
Above, a great shot for the 2360 MiG-21UM infront of a double HAS.

Another still for the same 2360 MiG-21UM. It looks phased-out recently here.

Another poor UM inside a HAS.

Another phased-out MiG-21UM with serial 2357.

Stunning shot for a double HAS to the far west of the base, houses two MiG-21UM's with one MiG-21bis with serial 2217 infront.

MiG-21MF with serial 1543 is photographed inside a HAS as well.

The same...

The poor 460 MiG-21MF at the gate.

A dozen of AA-2 (R-3S) air-to-air missiles were fallen into ISIS' hands too.

  1. Did they manage to capture any valuable asset? Or only phased out variants? Mig21bis 2217 for example?

  2. If you are talking about aircrafts, loyalist FB and Twitter pages talked about around 15 aircrafts were evacuated from the air filed before the drawing back. Among them should be the temporarily detached Mi-25 and Gazelles and any operational MiG-21.
It's true the 2217 bis looks intact, but a single malfunction in one of its primary systems may suspend it from flying...I remember here the L-39s (numbers 2111 & 2141) those brought back to life by FSyA technicians...Thus, I won't surprise if we see a MiG-21 with black insignia flying the coming days...there will be some action!

    1. Do you think they have pilots to fly them?

    2. Believe me, the first aircraft engine they will succeed to start, tens of pilots will find their way to that base...not necessary Syrians.

  3. I believe number of radar systems were intact so I think thats most valuable asset there.

    1. Someone really wonders how the Syrian regime keeps such valuable assets operational and intact before they draw back from the base, these should be completely detonated so ISIS will not be able to make any use of them.

  4. assad regime let isis come to syria by opening syrian borders, only to say that he is fighting terrorism, if the regime wanted them to leave they wouldn't let these soldiers without supply and support.

    1. One feels so sad for those soldiers left to face death.
